For some reason Julia took pictures of the kids playing dead.
Jeremy cooked us some yummy hot dogs.
Emma playing dead again.
Marshmallow roasting time. I love Julia's messy face!
Notice no marshmallow on Andrew's smore, which means the chocolate isn't melted at all, which means he is eating a piece of chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers.
Emma LOVES smores!
Reading books before bedtime, just before the fun begins. Not sure why Emma is making a frowny face. Maybe she was getting nervous.
After we cuddled up in our sleeping bags the wind began blowing rather hard and Emma got scared of the shaking tent. She wet her pants so Eldon took her home, cleaned her up and put her to bed. That is when I called to ask him to come pick up AJ. The kid would NOT sleep. He woke Julia and I both up with a kiss. Sweet, but not so sweet at 10:00 pm :) Then he realized Andrew was asleep and kept yelling, "Wake up, Andrew!"
So half of us slept in the tent all night, the other half went home to their beds.
I guess camping is not our thing......YET!

What a fun idea!! I would have been right along side Emma and AJ...in my own warm soft bed:) You are a trooper! We miss you guys!
Smart idea, camping close to home! Exactly for the reasons you experienced. Nice to have the option to go home if needed! Fun though!!
The kids camp in the backyard once every summer and tonight they are going to do it. That is the only way I'm camping. I love your blog. Thanks for always posting!
They are enjoying their picnic a lot..Its really cool to enjoy the moment of life..keep it up
